Bio 

Gwenno is a Welsh‑Cornish singer, songwriter and musician whose boundary‑defying work blends dreamy synth‑pop with rich cultural storytelling. Born Gwenno Mererid Saunders in Cardiff, she rose to prominence as a member of the indie pop group The Pipettes before embarking on a critically acclaimed solo career under her first name. 
 
Since 2014, Gwenno has released a series of adventurous albums that celebrate minority languages and imaginative sound worlds. Her debut Y Dydd Olaf; sung largely in Welsh, earned widespread praise for its bold fusion of politics and pop, while Le Kov (2018) and Tresor (2022) pushed further into Cornish language and culture, with Tresor earning a Mercury Prize nomination. 
 
Her 2025 album Utopia marks a fresh chapter, showcasing a broader palette of influences with lyrics primarily in English while still rooted in her global perspective and rich personal history.
